An excellent, digestible article on health inequalities that everyone should take the time to read. The evidence is stark. It’s not opinion or belief, it’s fact. People with a learning disability die 20 years earlier than the rest of us. People in Kensington live 10 years longer than people in Blackpool. So much of this is avoidable but we need a fundamental change of mindset to do it… one size does not fit all, we need health equity because we don’t all start from the same place.#nhs

After a day of preparing for the newCQC portal, trying to think through how we link it up to our StaffBox software so practices don't have to double their workload, this TED talk was a welcome bit of inspiration. We play as a team but sometimes worry that the big corporates have it all sewn up so we just can't compete. But we can. Because we don't do it for profit, we do it to make things better, for practices and for patients. We just need to keep striving to be better...

I spent the morning with an amazing group of women, celebrating International Women’s Day and the launch of the Lighthouse Centre Wirral. Whilst I’m very glad that the Lighthouse team exists for those woman and children that need their help I’m also angry that the domestic abuse statistics don’t change. A decent society shouldn’t need to have a centre that helps children make sense of violence and fear. Or have to give women emergency supplies because they’ve had to walk away from everything they own, scared for their lives. #iwd2024 #domesticviolence #abuseawareness

Love this talk. Perfect is the enemy of good. This International Women’s Day, let’s all tell a woman we know that she’s good enough and that she is appreciated. #kindnessmatters #iwd2024

Applying medical measures of efficacy to non-medical interventions like exercise may help influence clinicians. However, if there isn’t a different conversation with patients we won’t move the dial…

Love this, great conversations that our communities need if we are going to move from fixing medical problems to creating health. We really need to work with Scott on his photo pose…😂#nhslongtermplan #primarycare

Couldn’t agree more. Enough of the talk, let’s get some action on health creation.
