History of Genesis Health Clubs
In 1986, Genesis Health Club opened its doors in Wichita, Kansas, in a single site at 13th and West Street.
In 1994 Rodney Steven II, current President and Owner of Genesis Health Clubs bought the firm. Rodney was a tennis scholarship recipient at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Illinois.
His goal of living an active, healthy lifestyle and inspiring others in his area to do the same remained after he graduated.
He saw a need in the market for a fitness facility that emphasized customer care and personal attention, and he set out to fill it.
Since Genesis Health Club was founded on this early concept, the fitness industry has benefited from a model that focuses on customer care and delivers tangible results.
Our objective has always been to assist our members in reaching their health and fitness goals via the most excellent possible program and facilities at every step of the journey.
Our enthusiasm for health and fitness has never been more tremendous, and it shows in everything we do.

Who owns Genesis Health Club?
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, is where Rodney Steven II, CEO, and President of Genesis Health Clubs, studied on a tennis scholarship.
He had been teaching tennis and working out regularly before starting college.
Genesis Health club cancel membership
To discontinue your membership, you must notify the club management in writing or fill out our online cancellation form.
There is no time limit on how many sessions you may attend before you have to leave. If you have a small number of memberships, you won’t have to give 30 days’ notice; this is stated in the special conditions of your contract.
Your membership may be canceled during the first seven days of your subscription by contacting Club Manager in writing. You may either email or physically deliver the letter to the club.
Canceling your membership due to a permanent disability or severe illness requires a written request and a letter from your doctor outlining the specifics of your illness or disability.
It’s important to know that your club has the final say on whether or not to grant you this privilege.

How can I find out which club is close to my location?
Visit the Find a Gym page to see which club is closest to you, or go to the Free Trial page to sign up for a free trial and enter your postcode.
A list of nearby Genesis Fitness Clubs and their contact information will be shown. There is an option to get a five-day free pass.
To join Genesis Fitness, what is the minimum age?
If you have any questions about the minimum age for training, you should check with your local club, as local policies vary.
The majority of clubs offer memberships to those ages 12 and up. You’ll need the help of a parent or guardian to fill out the membership forms. An adult over the age of 18 must accompany anyone under 16 years old.
Is there a student discount at Genesis?
Students can join specific organizations on their own. To be eligible for the membership, you must present your student identification at signup.
This type of membership may be available at your local club; make sure to inquire about it.
Whom should I speak with about setting up a direct debit or payment?
Contact your club directly if you have any payment-related questions or concerns or if you would like to modify your current payment information.
How can I change my personal or account information?
Contact the club you belong to either in person or by email to update your personal information.
Is my subscription suspendable?
For a nominal charge, most memberships allow you to stop your membership while you travel or are sick, saving money on your gym membership.
Your membership agreement or your local club may help you determine whether suspension is an option for you.
For the most part, clubs give a two-week minimum suspension period and a maximum of six weeks, which resets every year.
Don’t hesitate to contact the club management via email or through our online form if you need a suspension that goes beyond the ones listed above. Rest does not accrue or roll over.
Can I terminate my membership at any time?
If your circ*mstances change or you decide to leave the area, we understand that you may need to cancel your membership. Contact your club if you want to cancel your membership at any time.
It’s also critical to know that Genesis memberships can be canceled.
On completion of the initial term, all Direct Debit memberships go on a rolling term basis.
Once a direct debit membership expires, the contract is automatically renewed for another month. To have your payments automatically halted at the end of your minimum term, please notify the club manager in writing (via email).
In most cases, you must provide 30 days’ notice before you may terminate a subscription.
